For most of her life, painting was just a hobby; which makes sense considering Haelyn Y has received painting lessons for only a couple years cumulatively. But some people take to things naturally, and Haelyn certainly does when it comes to painting. What's exciting about Haelyn is her range: she can convincingly paint a classic from the renaissance period but she has the bold sense of humor and pop sensibility to alter the painting by adding a large fluffy dog (which is so out of place yet it works so well that it feels like something Jeff Koons would appreciate). She painted peacocks with both modern and classic Asian influences, she painted a DaVinci woman but executed it with contemporary colored abstraction... Haelyn has done two paintings of Alice in Wonderland, one painting is an experiment with painting for virtual reality (see video below), while the other painting is a surrealist homage to the classic novel done so well that it belongs in a library. Haelyn has something for everyone, and we are happy to give Haelyn her first gallery experience. Please stop by and see for yourself.
